Epiphone Crestwood
The Epiphone Crestwood of 1958 was the first solidbody offered under the venerable Epiphone name and, moreover, it served notice that the Epiphone was alive and well under its new owners – the Gibson company.
It featured a more derivative, proven body shape compared to its other sibling models, which was essentially a Fender Telecaster with a mirror-image double-cutaway.
The Crestwood recieved a body makeover and an upgrade in name to Crestwood Custom in 1963 and continued to lead the Epiphone solid line until Gibson moved Epi production overseas in 1970.
