The Bronco, as the name suggests, was a member of the same family as the Mustang.

Inroduced in 1967, it offered players a less-expensive, single-pickup version of the Mustang. Or, from the opposite perspective, it was an upgraded version of Fender’s simplest guitar, the Musicmaster. This model had a more Fenderlike sound than the Musicmaker, thanks to it’s pickup placement near the bridge (the Musicmaster’s was in the neck position).

A pearloid pickguard gave it a classier look than the Musicmaster. And it’s tremolo was all its own, sound on no other Fender. It’s shorter, 24-inch scale, and it’s single pickup limited it’s appeal to beginners or players with small hands.
