Jackson DK2 Dinky
One of Jackson’s most popular design categories is the so-called “Superstrat”. The first production Superstrat named the Soloist, was launched in 1983-4. It featured a “neck-through-body” configuration, rather than the Fender-type bolt-on neck. It was soon joined by the Dinky, a “bolt-on” Superstrat that was otherwise very similar to it’s “neck-thru” cousin. Both are now recognized as Jackson classics.
The 2005 DK2 Dinky shown here remains faithful to the Superstrat tradition. It has an alder body and a maple bolt-on neck; it boasts two Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups, a rosewood fingerboard, and shark fin inlays.
The company’s custom deaprtment has long been renouned for it’s ability to produce “anything from life-like figures to off-the-wall abstract concoctions”. Grover Jackson left Jackson in 1989, which is now owned by Fender.
