Martin Backpacker
The Martin Backpacker’s unique compact design allows it to be taken to places that wold be strictly out of bounds to regular-sized acoustics.
Since the first of these endearing little guitars (built for Martin in Mexico) rolled off the production line in 1991, they have been seen and heard in a string of exotic locations, from the South Pole to the Mount Everest Base Camp in Tibet. Backpackers have even been taken onboard the US Space Shuttle Columbia, and are said to be a favorite among airline staff.
Despite it’s small size, the Backpacker’s 24-inch scale length and standard fingerboard width make it easy to play, though the narrow body does require a strap to keep it in position. It has clear, well-balanced tone.
