Wurlitzer Wildcat
The Holman-Woodell company, made this guitar in Neodesha, KS (around sixty miles due south from Topeka).
The company also built their own brand, Holman, alongside the Wurlitzer models, and the famous “body-less” La Baye 2×4 guitars.
Three Wurlitzer models were produced, the Couger, the Wildcat, and the Gemini. All were two-pickup offset double-cutaways with increasingly far-out styling, which included a six-in-line headstock.
The Couger was a Fender-style instrument, with a large, white pickguard. The Wildcat was a very similar guitar, except that it’s styling was even more exaggerated, and it had a narrower waist. Model 2520 was Taffy White, 2521 was Lollipop Red, and 2522 was Sunburst.
