Collings Baby

The first Baby Collings, introduced in 1997, featured the same appointments as the Collings D2H, the company’s midline dreadnaught, distinguishable by it’s herringbone top border.

In 2004, the Baby became available in all three of the basic ornamentation schemes of Collings’s dreadnaughts and OMs, and they were numbered accordingly: Baby 1, Baby 2H, and Baby 3. In addition to it’s appointments, the Baby Collings featured an almost full-length scale of 24 1/8 inches (standard would be 24 3/4) where other makers typically used a shorter “three-quarter” scale.

Consequently, the Baby Collings not only matched the materials and trim of the company’s larger, standard-size models, the Baby also had volume and tone that exceeded the typical expectations of a parlour guitar.
