Fender Jag-Stang

Kurt Cobain of Nirvana was a devotee of both Fender Mustangs and Jaguars, and longed for a single guitar that would combine their best features.

In 1993, he began to discuss what would become the Jag-Stang with Fender.
Cobain cut up photographs of the two models, and stuck them together in the shape he wanted, with handwritten notes detailing neck dimension, pickup types, and finishes. Larry Brook’s of Fender’s Custom Shop supervised the process of transforming these ideas into two finished instruments.

Following the star’s suicide in April of 1994, it was decided to put the Jag-Stang into production, with the blessing of Kurt Cobain’s family.
