Alembic Series 1

Alembic guitars are less frequently sighted than Alembic basses but, like the basses, they are easily identifiable by the “hippie sandwich” – the multi-piece neck-thru-body construction – along with the rich, handcrafted look of exotic wood and brass “fittings”.

At first Alembic put active pickups in their early Series models for Grateful Dead’s guitarists, Bob Weir and Jerry Garcia. It was their basses, however, that put them on the map with brass bridges and nuts, neck-thru design and highly figured walnut, maple, and purple heart wood.
