Jerry Garcia, lead guitarist and frontman for the Grateful Dead, used a wide range of electric instruments during his career. Doug Irwin, a former Alembic staffer, built no less than 5 custom electric guitars for Garcia.

This later inspired Alembic to produce a custom “Tribute” model in honor of Jerry Garcia.

This model has a multi-ply body, typically flexible Alembic electronics, and its ebony-faced headstock is graced with a sterling silver-inlaid company logo.
