Breedlove SC20

The SC20 served notice in 1995 that the small custom guitar shop in Bend, Oregon, was reinventing itself with regular production models. Moreover, the SC20 represented a departure from the shop’s emphasis on spectacular woods and inlays. It was a relatively plain guitar, built for performance – thanks to a body depth of 4 9/16 inches – rather than show.

Although the SC20 has a traditional non-cutaway body shape, it is hardly a traditional design. The asymmetrical peghead shape provides straighter string pull than traditional designs. The moustache bridge is part of a patented system that uses the tailblock to counterbalance the tension on the top.
