Charvel Contemporary Spectrum

The Stratocaster-inspired body of this 1989 Contemporary Spectrum reflects the origin of the Charvel company as a parts house specialising in such items as Stratocaster-style bodies, while the pointed headstock angling off to the bass side – the opposite direction from a conventional Fender – and the “dive-bomb” vibrato exemplify the innovative ideas that gave rise to new guitar companies in the 70’s, as Gibson and Fender began to show their age.
