Chris Fleming is a Senior Master Builder at Fender’s Custom Shop: this example of his work is one of a limited edition run of ten gold leaf covered Eric Clapton Signature Stratocasters made in 2003.

It closely resembles the EC-1 guitar that Clapton himself ordered from the Custom Shop in the mid-1990s.

This model’s body weighs just 7 1/2 pounds, and, as is customary on Fender Master Built guitars, carries it’s maker’s signature on the back of it’s neck heel and also boosts a certificate of authenticity. Models like this one are highly collectable.
