Fender Showmaster

Launched in 1998 as a Custom Shop model, the Showmaster’s neck was “set” (glued in), rather than bolted on.
Hot pickups and attractive styling won the Showmaster many admirers, and it was soon being mass-produced in a variety of versions.
This example was made in the Far East, and features a flame maple top over a basswood body (quilted maple and bubinga are also available), Seymour Duncan pickups and a 24-fret fretboard.
Striking a careful balance between novelty and tradition, the Showmaster seems destined for even wider popularity.
