Guild X-170

Although the original X-175 Manhattan was dropped from the Guild catalog in 1984 after two decades in production, the company soon introduced a substitute for it.

Named the X-170 “Mini-Manhattan”, it was slightly narrower and thinner than it’s distinguished predecessor. With it’s internal soundpost, and more rigid, laminated maple top was better able to resist feedback in noisy onstage conditions. The guitar was also given a glamourous new look, with gold plating on it’s pickups, machine heads, and “harp” tailpiece.
