Peavey Cropper Classic

Hartley Peavey set up Peavey Electronics in his hometown of Meridian, MS, soon after graduating from college in 1965. It is now one of the world’s largest manufacturers of musical instruments and sound equipment.

Among Peavey’s extensive guitar range is the highly acclaimed Cropper Classic. This was inspired and endorsed by notable Southerner, former Booker T, and the M.G.’s stalwart, Steve Cropper.

Much of Cropper’s searing guitar work was performed on a Fender Telecaster, and the Cropper Classic, introduced in the late 1990s, is similar in it’s outline and overall construction. It’s electronics, though, are radically different, as it has two Peavey humbucking Blade units.
