Peavey Grind 5-String Bass
Over the last four decades, Peavey has won countless awards and accolades for it’s instruments and sound reinforcement gear, and it’s basses, which include student, mid-price, and professional models, are perennial bestsellers. This 5-string Grind was introduced in 2001.
Like the 4-string Grind that debuted at the same time, it has an alder body and two passive, humbucking pickups. The transducers fitted to the 5-string are Peavey “J-styles” while the 4-stranger boasts both a J-style and a staggered-coil “P-style” unit inspired by those found on Fender’s Precision Basses. Though the pickups are passive, the Grind also has an active, three-band EQ system, as well as treble boost, master volume, and blend controls.
