Schecter Dream Machine

In 1976, David Schecter, a Southern California-based guitar customizer and repairer set up Schecter Guitar Research in order to produce high performance replacement pickups and other components.

The following year, the company published a catalog showcasing an extensive range of substitute transducers, among which were ready-wired assemblies of coil-tapped pickups for Fender Telecasters and Stratocasters.

Before long, Schecter was making guitar bodies and necks as well as electronics. It was only a matter of time before the company began using these as the basis for complete guitars, including the Dream Machine here.

This model dates from before 1982 and it has a Strat-like outline, switching options, and six-point vibrato.
