Yamaha’s bass guitars are as highly respected as it’s standard acoustics and electrics. It produces over 40 models, including basses aimed at beginners and musicians on a tight budget, as well as state-of-the-art instruments endorsed by some of the leading names in rock and jazz. These included Nathan East, Billy Sheehan, Dave Santos, John Myung, and John Patitucci.

Patitucci is a respected bandleader, soloist, composer, and teacher. He is closely associated with the TRB range, which Yamaha described as “the highest level of professional basses available for discriminating players”. They made him a six-string TRB JP2, a signature version of this standard TRB 6 II, which have Alnico V double-coil pickups.
